Château Saint Maurice 2023 - Côtes du Rhône - Les Parcellaires

A sun-warmed southern Rhône red built for the table: juicy, generous, and exactly what a good bistro wine should be.

This is the kind of wine I grew up drinking in Lyon. Nothing to overthink, everything to enjoy.

The Grenache brings that soft, round fruitiness that makes you reach for a second glass, and the Syrah adds just enough backbone and spice to keep it interesting.

I chose it because it punches well above its price and fits almost any occasion, whether you're opening a bottle mid-week or pulling it out for friends on a Saturday.

If you're new to Rhone reds, this is a great place to start.

The nose opens with ripe red fruit, cherries, strawberries, layered with a touch of black pepper and warm earth.

On the palate it's fleshy and generous, with a smooth, round texture that comes from the low-temperature fermentation.

The tannins are present but well-integrated, giving the wine just enough structure without ever feeling heavy.

The finish is clean and spiced, with a lingering warmth that is very southern Rhone.

Chateau Saint Maurice sits in the Cotes du Rhone appellation, one of the most storied wine-producing regions in France.

"Les Parcellaires" label points to something specific: these grapes come from a defined parcel of land, grown on rounded pebble slopes over red clay, a soil profile that holds heat, concentrates flavour, and produces wines with real character.

Grenache and Syrah have been grown together in this valley for centuries, and this 2023 vintage is a textbook example of why that combination still works so well.

We sourced this bottle through our trusted importer partners, who know this region inside out.
